From Saturday’s eclipse…
I got schooled in the comments. It’s actually from February 25th and isn’t an eclipse at all. But it’s still neat, dagnabbit!

That clip is dated 25 February, and it shows the moon crossing in front of the sun. Saturday’s (3 March) eclipse was a lunar eclipse where the moon crosses behind the earth and into its shadow. APOD just happened to post this on the 3rd (tricky bastards).
This was Saturday’s eclipse:

Picky picky
But seriously, good catch. That’ll teach me to be lazy and think that no one is reading this thing

Especially when you have an astronomer that could be reading…

I’m surrounded by science nerds. But they’re my second favorite kind, so it’s ok.

Yeah, they busted me too!

An astronomer?! Where? Nothing but trouble makers those astronomers; always finding out new stuff. If it wasn’t for them, the Sun would still be orbiting the Earth, and we might have found a complex equation to sort of make Ptolemy’s epicycles work.
;-P

Yeah! God-damned scientists trying to increase our knowledge of the Universe through application of the Scientific Method! What a bunch of assholes.

They’re not assholes. They’re just infidels who will burn in hell. But as good, god fearing men, we should forgive them even as we defy the bible and pass judgement upon them.
Oh, wait, wrong crowd. Sorry, I thought I was talking to my coworkers again.
