Well gosh, I’ve sure been quiet for a while, haven’t I? I reckon that’s because I reached a point where I couldn’t keep dwelling on just how messed up things have gotten in this country. I don’t think I’ve got the strength to keep beating the drum, especially when the only people listening already know the dance. So I’m backing out of the political blogging thing entirely. You folks (all 4 or 5 of you) already know where to look for this stuff, so this isn’t really a loss to the cause.
I still believe what I believe and I’ll still be happy to engage your ass in a discussion, but screaming into the void stopped being therapy and started making my guts hurt worse. So there you have it. Ixnay. I’ll still post stuff, probably, maybe even moreso now. I’ll get back to writing stuff I want to write (music reviews, baseball commentary, etc.) and worry less about posting another link to another article or source or whatever.
I will leave you with this, though: Notes for Converts
It’s a brilliant piece written to help those folks on the right who are waking up to the long-understood fact that the emperor has no clothes understand the geography of where they stand now. So read it, enjoy it and pass it around to those you know who are guilty of having made this mess possible in the first place.
And if, by some slender chance, you were reading this site from the other point of view, I’ve got a special message for you. I see it on more bumper stickers in town every week:
If you aren’t completely appalled then you haven’t been paying attention.
Of course, I can’t possibly expect that anything I would write here could cause that inattention to abate. So I’m done trying.

WHAT!??
How dare u abandon us!??
Didn’t u see V yet!?!
Well – in all fairness – I completely understand.
I feel the same way about discussing 9/11 lies or UFO evidence – sometimes it seems like I’m Screamin at a Wall – Screamin at a Wall – Someday it has to Fall tho – Doesn’t it??
Well I’m actually going in the opposite direction and starting a Political / Conspiracy Blog – so I’ll try to pick up where your very informative posts left off…
http://www.truthmagnet.com (currently it’s just a propaganda page – so check back regularly kids!)
Anyways thank you for your outstanding and informative political commentary – and I look forward to your non-political yet insightful posts to come.
Make sure to include lots o’ local stuff for some of us ex-Austinites, eh?
Viva la Revolution!

Your pity insights will be missed, my friend.
I can certainly understand the political exhaustion. I know, from our talks, how fervently you feel about many issues that are facing us today and I know when tires hit the pavement that you will be there. Regardless, we all know how easy it is today to become completely overwhelmed by the amount of spin and misinformation out there. They really do want to keep most folks on the couch and the rest of us confused. Now that I have personally been blogging consistently I understand how important it is to have that open dialogue with yourself (as much as your audience). It allows you to really sift through all the crap to get to the good stuff – the stuff that makes you feel right.
So what I’m really saying is that I hope you reconsider but I’ll understand if you won’t
At the very least, given that you no longer are choosing this as an outlet, I hope that will mean that you’ll need to seek a case o’ guinness and a few friends (present company included) to talk things through more often
Peace.
